IT equipment & remote work
Company equipment is provided to perform your job and must be cared for, secured, and returned in the same condition you received it.
Your equipment is company property
- Laptops, monitors, phones, and peripherals are tracked and assigned to you by serial number
- Personal use is permitted within reason but never for non-Good Shepherd business
- Do not install unapproved software, browser extensions, or VPNs
- Do not share devices with family members or anyone outside the company
- All equipment must be returned the day employment ends
Remote work expectations
- Work from a private space — never a coffee shop, airport, or open coworking when handling PHI
- Always use the company VPN when connecting from any non-office network
- Lock your screen any time you step away (Cmd/Win + L)
- Use a privacy screen if working in any shared environment
- Keep core working hours aligned with your team's time zone

When your role changes or your employment ends, all company equipment must be returned in person or via insured, tracked shipping arranged by IT. Wipe nothing yourself — IT performs a forensic-grade wipe to preserve records and confirm compliance.
